“One of the penalties for refusing to participate in politics is that you end up being governed by your inferiors.” – Plato

Wow! It’s already the end of my freshman year of college. I met the greatest people, professors, and friends that will last a lifetime.

It was quite the journey, I remember being a nervous freshman during orientation week and peering around the dining hall to find familiar faces. But I was quickly able to assimilate thanks to great upperclassmen and classmates.

Overall, my first-year experience was amazing and I can’t wait to go back after a relaxing summer.

I also attended my sister’s graduation from Harvard University. I was inspired by Joe Biden’s speech, in which he quoted Plato, (the quote at the top of this post!).

Although I don’t plan on going into politics, I felt like his speech was a call to be more involved in the world I will be living in. I hope this quote is also inspiring to you!

The dress I wore is from BCBGeneration, one of the few brands I’ve been able to find a size in. It has a slit in the front and the back, making the dress A-line and flattering. I haven’t had any other occasions to wear this dress, but hopefully I can wear it again soon!
